QR Code Generator
Type a link or any text and get a scannable QR code you can download as a PNG — generated entirely client-side.
How this works
The QR code is built entirely in your browser using a small JavaScript library — the text you enter never leaves your device or gets sent to a server. A QR code can hold plain text, a URL, or structured data like a Wi-Fi network string; most phone cameras will recognize a URL automatically and offer to open it.
Common uses
- Sharing a link on printed materials — menus, flyers, business cards
- Linking to a Wi-Fi network, contact card, or event without typing it in
- Quickly moving a link from a desktop screen to a phone
Frequently asked questions
Do QR codes generated here expire?
No — the QR code simply encodes whatever text or URL you typed directly into its pattern. It doesn't rely on any external service, so it will keep working for as long as the underlying link or text remains valid.
Can I put a Wi-Fi network or contact info into a QR code?
This tool encodes plain text and URLs directly. For Wi-Fi, you can type a structured string like WIFI:T:WPA;S:NetworkName;P:Password;; and most phone cameras will recognize it as a network to join — support varies by phone.
What size should I print a QR code at?
Larger is generally more reliable, especially for codes with more data or codes that will be scanned from a distance. For business cards or flyers, at least 2×2 cm (about 0.8×0.8 inches) is a common minimum; test-scan a printed version before mass-printing.
Is my data private when I generate a QR code here?
Yes — the QR code image is generated entirely in your browser. The text or link you enter is never sent to a server.
