How the resize keeps content intact

Rather than stretching or cropping, each original page is embedded as a single unit into a new page of the target size, then scaled down or up to fit — centered — while keeping its width-to-height ratio. This means content never distorts; if the target page has different proportions than the original, you'll see a small margin on two sides instead of stretched text or images. Nothing downloads until you click "Download" — the preview step shows the resulting file size first.

Common uses

  • Converting a US Letter document to A4 (or back) before printing abroad
  • Standardizing a batch of pages scanned at different sizes
  • Shrinking oversized pages down to a specific custom size

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between A4 and US Letter?

A4 (210 × 297 mm) is the international standard used in most of the world; US Letter (8.5 × 11 in, about 216 × 279 mm) is standard in the US and Canada. They're close in size but not identical, which is why documents made for one can print with odd margins on the other.

Will resizing distort my document's content?

No — each page is scaled proportionally to fit the new size, keeping its original aspect ratio. If the target page has different proportions, you'll see a small margin rather than stretched or squashed content.

Can I resize a PDF to a custom size, not just A4 or Letter?

Yes — choose "Custom (mm)" from the target size dropdown and enter any width and height you need.

Does this tool change my PDF's text into an image?

No — pages are embedded and scaled as vector content, not rasterized into images, so text stays sharp and selectable at any zoom level in the resized PDF.
